What people say

I’ve really enjoyed the course; I’ve found it to be extremely helpful in giving me tools to understand my son’s needs and well-being. It’s also been a massive help with my own well-being.

Great experience. The facilitators are very knowledgeable of ASD and provide brilliant advice on how to deal with ASD-specific behaviour.

I’m really glad that I did this course. Lovely to meet other parents and discuss with them. The course leaders were great, so helpful and knowledgeable. I have learnt so much from the course and other parents’ experiences. I feel much more positive since doing the course. I can understand now maybe why my son is behaving the way that he is and have ideas of how to help him and us as a family. Gutted to finish the course, to be honest, I have really enjoyed and gained lots from the experience. Thank you so much.

I love coming to the CBS groups. It’s my only support network, I always feel well looked after and well-loved. I know I can call on CBS in my darkest times of need. They are amazing and truly valuable service for us parents. A lovely space to come to relax and do some fun activities just for me, a rarity for a parent of children with additional needs.

I feel I have learned a lot during this course. I feel I am able to support better during a meltdown. I have learned ways to communicate first, so hopefully not get to the meltdown stage. I feel I understand anxiety and the reasons for certain behaviours better. I feel much better equipped to deal with puberty and the challenges he faces.

Brilliant experience! Well worth doing the course. Would recommend to anyone. I feel much more confident and knowledgeable about ADHD and feel better about fighting for the right support for our son.

Came into this course with no idea how to deal with ADHD. I leave with a much better understanding on how to deal with situations. Also, feel much better that there are other people who share the same emotions and feeling as do.

I learnt so much from the course. The girls were amazing, so welcoming, and actually felt like I had a purpose for a few weeks. Other mams were so friendly and so helpful, lovely women.

I found it really useful discussing experiences with Chantel and Beth, who led the course, as they always had good advice to give and understood where I was coming from. I also found it useful discussing with the group, learning from different people’s situations and experiences. The focus on parent well-being is also something really beneficial. It’s something I now try and think about more than I would have before the course. I look forward to joining more courses that are more focused on ASD. Thank you.

I have attended 2 training Programmes, ADHD and ASD to help me understand my son better, these have been invaluable in helping me and my family feel more confident in understanding how to help our child. CBS have been great in helping me and giving me advice in getting the correct support in school for my child. Without them and their support, things wouldn’t be as calm at home as they currently are. This has allowed myself and my husband to be better parents to both our children.

CBS has changed my life, before I was lonely depressed, and had no support. I walked into the support group in Ponty and felt instantly connected, with friendly faces and parents who completely understood. I have done some of the training programmes, and they really helped me understand my daughter more, which has eased the pressure. The well-being parent programme was absolutely fantastic, I loved every minute of it and hope I can do more this year. Lastly thank you to the CBS ladies, you don’t know how special you are, how much you change my life and many others I have become friends for life with since walking through that door. I now have my very own tribe! Thank you all.

Before joining this group, I was alone and felt like I was the only person going through our issues. This group has given me hope, advice, support, training and a new outlook on life. They have helped me gain friendships, confidence and knowledge and understanding, and I’m not alone and helped me understand my own child. I do not know where I would be if I didn’t find this group.
